old pics/new scans

while my film was flattening enough to use in the scanner i scanned some older photos.  here are only two. dust is my nightmare sometimes. that is one thing i hate about scanning b&w film: can't use digital ice.  it works with color, but i get that scanned at labs, cause i don't do my own color film. maybe some day.

 weeds can look pretty too. especially in b&w. mamiya rb67, kodak tmax400, d76.

school begins

my kids start school today. even though summer is not technically over it is the end of it for our family. i thought i would share some randoms of our vacation to santa cruz. i wanted it to have a classic feel so i did all black & white film this year. these are pretty grainy contrasty. i used exhausted developer and extended the time to compensate. oh well. its good enough for a family album.

this made me laugh. "no smoking beyond this point" the beach and pier is just beyond those cars.  we don't have signs like that in nevada.

everything was shot with a minolta x-700. kodak tri-x 400 (400iso & 800iso). dev. d76 exhausted.

not sure if i will keep up on this. i will primarily post just images. maybe small commentary. so here we go.

im a fan of film more than digital. they are just different. this is one from my first roll of fuji 400h. i think i like it, but i am not sure if i like it over portra 400. 

 i certainly like the colors.

this is my son watching our neighbor fix his bike for him.  i liked the bokeh. 

 nikon f3, voigtlander 40mm /f2 slii.process/ scan walgreens. not bad.
